Designing the Perfect Home: Elegance and Style with Baxter and Lema

When it comes to home design, few things evoke a sense of luxury and personal style quite like an elegant living room and a beautifully crafted walk-in closet. Recently, we embarked on an exciting project to create a rafined living room with a breathtaking view and a stunning walk-in closet, using products from the renowned Italian brands Baxter and Lema. This endeavor was all about blending functionality with elegance, creating a serene space tailored for both her and him.

We had the honour of carrying out this project thanks to the Del Castillo studio, which naturally combines design rigour and style. Founded in the French Alps by director Penny Del Castillo and now based in Melbourne, the studio is composed of an award-winning team of interior architects and designers with solid experience in the residential and hospitality sectors, gained through iconic projects in Australia and internationally. In this project, del Castillo was responsible for the design of all the spaces, taking care of the concept, product selection and choice of finishes, with a bespoke approach that reflects the identity of the space and the people who inhabit it.

Welcome to a stunning living area that beautifully blends comfort and elegance. At the heart of this space is the Piaf sofa from Baxter, renowned for its luxurious design and inviting ambiance. Complementing the sofa is the exquisite Marilyn armchair, also by Baxter, which adds a touch of sophistication with its sleek lines and leather upholstery. Together, they create a harmonious environment perfect for both relaxation and social gatherings, making this living zone a stylish retreat in the home.

The Design Concept: Textile and Leather

Our vision for the walk-in closet was to create distinct yet harmonious areas for both clients, reflecting their unique styles while ensuring a seamless flow throughout the space. We chose Lema's innovative Dandy doors as the centerpiece of our design. Known for their elegant lines and customizable options, the Dandy series was the perfect choice to achieve our goals.

For the women’s section, we opted for the Dandy doors covered in luxurious fabric. This choice not only adds a soft and inviting texture but also serves to create a cozy, personal atmosphere—a perfect fit for a space dedicated to clothing and accessories. The fabric selection was vital; we chose a high-quality, durable textile with a stylish pattern that would complement the rest of the room’s décor.

Details such as the Ops mirror by Porada add those touches of style that make the entire room perfect in every detail.

On the other hand, the men’s area featured Dandy doors clad in premium leather. The leather adds a touch of sophistication, offering a refined contrast to the soft fabric. The rich texture and deep tones convey a sense of strength and elegance, creating a perfect counterpart to the feminine side of the closet.

A Seamless Connection: Glass Doors

To bridge the two sections, we designed a stylish corridor using Dandy doors with glass panels. This feature not only serves practical purposes—providing visibility and easy access—but also creates an elegant passage between the two distinct areas. The glass brings an airy feel to the walk-in closet, allowing natural light to flow through and enhancing the overall sense of space and openness.

The combination of fabric, leather, and glass results in a sophisticated and functional design that meets the needs of both clients. Each material tells a different story, yet together they create a balanced and harmonious environment.
