Iconic design and Brutalist architecture: a signature residence in Milan

Being part of projects that leave their mark on the world of architecture and interior design is always a source of great satisfaction. That is why we are proud to have contributed to the interior design of an extraordinary Milanese residence designed by Nick Maltese Studio, recently featured in the prestigious international publications Design Milk and md-mag.

The house, designed for a contemporary art collector, interprets the language of Brutalism through a refined exploration of materials. Exposed concrete, stainless steel, industrial surfaces and deliberately exposed structural details give rise to a rigorous, minimalist and highly expressive architecture, in which every element contributes to creating an authentic and timeless atmosphere.

In this context, the design of the furnishings plays a fundamental role, striking a perfect balance between the strength of the materials and the comfort of living. Among the pieces selected by Mobilificio Marchese, the Extrasoft sofa by Living Divani stands out as the centrepiece of the striking, sunken living area. Thanks to its soft lines and modular configuration, Extrasoft embodies the convivial heart of the home, offering a pleasant contrast to the austerity of the concrete surfaces and enhancing the space with understated elegance.

The kitchen, dominated by steel and an aesthetic inspired by professional settings, features Driade’s Mingx stools. Their minimalist, contemporary design brings a sense of visual lightness and helps to define a sophisticated space, perfectly in keeping with the character of the entire project.

Rounding off the selection, Driade’s iconic Costes chairs furnish the dining area with their unmistakable presence. True icons of international design, they interact with the large concrete table, creating a refined contrast between enveloping forms and raw materials, confirming how furniture can become an integral part of the architectural narrative.

The owner’s art collection brings the rooms to life with unexpected splashes of colour.

For us at Mobilificio Marchese, having been part of a project of this calibre means contributing, through a careful selection of designer furniture, to the creation of spaces where aesthetics, functionality and design culture come together in an authentic way.
