Lloyd Bookcase Baxter

Lloyd was developed in-house at Baxter, the company near Lake Como known for its leather and for interiors with a theatrical streak. The idea is both simple and ambitious: an open bookcase that isn't just a piece of furniture against the wall, but a three-dimensional grid that organizes space and becomes the star of the room. Storing books and objects turns into something visual, almost scenic.

Oak, stone and leather

The structure is brushed oak in Liquorice or Tobacco, two deep browns that pair beautifully with the warmth of leather. The shelves, in a choice of natural stones or solid woods, wrap around the tubular uprights in organic shapes and adjust freely along metal pegs. Small curved storage units upholstered in leather, in several shades, slot into the grid to hide whatever you'd rather keep out of sight.

Against the wall or in the middle of the room

Lloyd can sit discreetly against a wall or rise from floor to ceiling as a room divider: a permeable partition that separates living room and study while letting light and views pass through. Uprights come in several heights, from about 8 ft to over 11.5 ft, so the composition also suits the high ceilings of older homes and lofts.

Our advice

A bookcase like this deserves a proper reading corner: a softly shaped armchair such as Baxter's Aimée armchair completes the scene. We can help you plan the composition for your wall or ceiling, and in our showroom you can see the stones and oak colors in person.
