A bookcase built one module at a time
Hugo starts from a simple idea and takes it all the way: instead of a bookcase that imposes its own size, a series of vertical modules in concrete aggregate that hang on the wall and combine according to space and needs. Draga & Aurel keep the industrial aesthetic of the material but temper it with slender proportions and barely-there shelves, so the concrete becomes character rather than weight.
Each module comes in a different height, 120 or 180 centimetres, with the same narrow, vertical section. Aligned in pairs, staggered, or isolated as single marks on the wall, they create ever-changing compositions. The two finishes, Ivory Skin and Anthracite Grey, make the difference between a pale, almost limestone-like wall and a dark, decisive one.
The details that make the difference
● Designed by Draga & Aurel for Baxter
● Concrete aggregate structure, modular model
● Two finishes: Ivory Skin Concrete and Anthracite Grey Concrete
● Two module heights: 120cm and 180cm, with a 32x33cm section
● Industrial aesthetic, wall element requiring assembly
Where it finds its place
On a living room wall to be composed like a sculpture, in a study that needs essential vertical shelving, or in contract settings seeking material character without the visual weight of a classic bookcase.
