A structure that grows, a weave that holds it together
Manila reed is a material that grows, bends and lets itself be worked: flexible, resistant and sustainable. Paola Navone chooses it for Manao's frame and binds it with a simple, recognisable gesture, the weaving of a technical cord covered in Cloister or Lido leather. The decorative detail coincides with the structural part, and the chair gains visual lightness and an essential look that fits any open-air space.
The loose seat cushion, covered in outdoor leather, completes the chair with a note of comfort. Those who choose the leather version find raw-edge stitching that highlights the artisanal care, while the outdoor fabric variant stands out for a more sober, refined double stitching. Manao exists in two heights, high and low, so a table can be composed with rhythm and variety.
The details that make the difference
● Designed by Paola Navone for Baxter's Open-air collection
● Manila reed frame bound with technical cord covered in Cloister or Lido leather
● Loose seat cushion in polyurethane with outdoor acrylic fibre covering
● Raw-edge stitching on the leather version, double stitching on the outdoor fabric version
● Two versions: high chair (55x60xH102 cm) and low chair (60x60xH82 cm)
Where it finds its place
In gardens, terraces and outdoor spaces calling for a sober, refined style, around a table where high and low chairs alternate, or on a veranda where Manila reed converses with the greenery around.
