Whoever sits here, presides
With a back that rises to 126 centimetres, Miss Rope doesn't just offer a seat: it assigns a role. Studiopepe draws on the imagery of ritual seats and tribal thrones from distant lands and translates it for Baxter into a slender, vertical chair that changes the posture of its occupant and the visual centre of gravity of the room. Placed at the head of a table or on either side of a console, it's the kind of presence you notice before you even sit down.
All the character of the piece lies in the weave: the matte black powder-coated metal frame is covered by hand in paper cord, a paper rope worked with precision and continuity, in which the gesture of whoever wove it is still legible. Available in two colourways, warm Cognac or dark Fumée, it withstands the challenges of outdoor spaces as well as embellishing interior ones.

Where it finds its place
At either end of a statement table, as a pair flanking a fireplace or an entry console, or as an isolated scenic piece in a corner that needs verticality and a story to tell.
